Incheon International Airport has risen to second place in the 2026 World Airport Awards, surpassing Singapore’s Changi Airport in the global cleanliness rankings. The results, compiled by aviation consultancy Skytrax, are based on passenger surveys evaluating multiple aspects of airport experience, including operational efficiency, hygiene standards and service quality.
Incheon’s strong performance is attributed to its rigorous maintenance practices, combining advanced cleaning technologies with a substantial workforce. The airport deploys cleaning robots alongside hundreds of staff to ensure consistently high standards.
Tokyo Haneda Airport retains its position as the world’s cleanest airport, while New Chitose leads in the category for medium-sized airports.
