Indonesia was the most polluted country in Southeast Asia in 2025. Although air quality improved, pollution levels are still very high. The average pollution level is about six times higher than the safe limit set by the World Health Organization.
One major cause of pollution is coal power plants. Smoke from fires and traffic also make the air worse.
Air pollution can be very dangerous for health. It can cause problems like lung disease and heart disease.
Some countries in Southeast Asia improved their air quality, but pollution is still a serious problem.
